A multi-genre production from 7 Star Arts combining words, music and art, featuring International concert pianist Viv McLean and RSC/National Theatre actress Susan Porrett.

Music by Prokofiev, Medtner, Messiaen, Schumann and Schubert. Scenes from Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night and Anthony and Cleopatra. Original artwork by Klára Smith including a multi-media projected display with paper cut shadow play and puppetry.

Viv McLean

Viv studied at the Royal Academy of Music. After winning First Prize in the Maria Canals International Piano Competition in Barcelona in 2002, he went on to play regularly with major orchestras and chamber groups throughout the UK, Europe, US, Japan and Australia. He has played in all the UK’s major concert venues and was the soloist with the Halle Orchestra at The Sage Gateshead playing Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.

Susan’s last stage appearance was at Shakespeare’s Globe in John Dove’s production ofThe Heresy of Love in summer 2015. Before that she worked for the acclaimed theatre and opera director Richard Jones in Brecht’s The Good Soul of Szechuan at the Young Vic. Apart from a theatrical career including seasons with the RSC and the National Theatre she has a long list of TV and film credits including Upstairs, Downstairs, Poirot, Foyle’s War, Absolute Hell (with Judi Dench) and Alan Bennett’s A Private Function. At Christmas 2014 she was seen as Withers in the BBC’s major TV series Mapp and Lucia.
