Our autumn season kicks off on 6 September with a wonderful concert at our new favourite venue, Russian Culture House in Kensington, with a recital celebrating the music of York Bowen, the ‘English Rachmaninov’. Prize-winning violist Yue Yu performs with acclaimed pianist Anthony Hewitt.

Our residency at The Jazz Room, the “suburban Ronnie Scotts”, at The Bull’s Head in Barnes continues on 10 September with an evening of West Coast jazz with the Alex Hall Quartet. We are also delighted to welcome back two exceptionally talented young musicians, Theo May and his quintet and Rowan Hudson with his newly-formed line up Passing Ships.

Two fine classical pianists grace our programme this autumn: Anthony Hewitt will give a solo concert of classical favourites at the intimate setting of Cafe Yukari in Kew, while celebrated Venezuelan pianist Clara Rodriguez performs Musorgsky’s monumental Pictures at an Exhibition, together with works by Rachmaninov and Prokofiev, in a concert celebrating Russian music at Russian Culture House. The music is complemented by artwork by Klara Smith, inspired by Pictures at an Exhibition, with readings by actress Susan Porrett.

Our most popular music and words production, Classic Gershwin, returns to the OSO Arts Centre in Barnes, where it received its world premiere back in 2014. Join renowned Gershwin interpreter Viv McLean and narrator Susan Porrett in a glorious and intriguing celebration of the life and music of George Gershwin.

And for something completely different…..we return to the OSO with Musica con Moto, a unique event combining physical movement drawn from Parkour, TaiChi, Breakdancing and HipHop with virtuoso piano music, all performed by Bogdan Suciu.
